The Children Matter, a collaborative initiative between Gene Simmons and nonprofit organization MATTER, will hold a benefit concert to raise funds for children and families affected by Hurricane Harvey on September 20 at CHS Field Stadium in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It will be the first time Gene Simmons and his former KISS band-mate Ace Frehley will perform together on stage in 16 years. The concert will also feature Gene Simmons Band, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, and Cheap Trick.

Ticket prices range from $59.50 for General Admission to $249.50 for a VIP Meet-and-Greet. The Children Matter, as stated on their website, was created “on the simple belief that the lives of children matter. Regardless of race, income, gender, religion, or location every child deserves the same access to a full and healthy life”. As such, all proceeds from the concert will go to hurricane relief efforts through The Children Matter, including sourcing and shipping out meal kits, sanitation supplies, and contamination prevention supplies.

Frehley and Simmons recently joined up to write two songs for Frehley’s upcoming solo album. Another KISS bandmate, Paul Stanley, appeared on Frehley’s last album, Origins Vol. 1. Despite all of this recent collaboration, a full-on KISS reunion is still mostly a rumor. The last time it was explicitly discussed, Ace told Eddie Trunk in an interview: “I can only be honest with you. It’s something I haven’t pushed and it’s something that Paul and Gene haven’t brought up to me. If the fans demand it, it’ll probably get to a point where [Simmons and Stanley aren’t] going to be able to say no”.

Stanley, however, proved him wrong in an interview with Billboard when he said just that. When asked about any reunion possibilities, Stanley answered, “No. And that’s not coming from any place of animosity…I have no thoughts of re-visiting the past”.

For now, KISS fans will have to settle for the partial reunion between the two. Gene Simmons Band will headline the show on the 20th, and the website even boasts a sweepstakes for kids between ages 7-14 to win a chance to sing with Gene onstage.
