Liza Minnelli was forced to cancel her December 10 performance of “Liza at the Palace…” at New York’s Palace Theatre just before the 8 p.m. curtain due to dehydration.

“This past opening week has been a marathon run for Liza,” said co-promoter John Scher of Metropolitan Talent Presents in a statement, “which unfortunately has led her to dehydration, and her doctor has insisted she get some extra rest.”

Tickets purchased through a primary seller can be exchanged for a future performance of the limited engagement, or ticketholders can get a refund at the point of purchase. The next scheduled performance is December 12.

The promoters have also once again extended the run of shows with new four concerts set for December 30 and January 2-4. The limited run of Broadway shows was initially set to close on December 14 after nine concerts and then 10 more shows were added for a December 28 closing.

“Liza’s at The Palace,” a new two-CD set celebrating Minnelli’s return to Broadway, will be released in stores on February 3 on Hybrid Recordings (Scher’s label). Producer by Phil Ramone, the record is also on sale at the shows during Minnelli’s Palace Theatre engagement. The first CD (“Act I”) features Minnelli’s signature hits, while the second disc (“Act II”) features a tribute to Minnelli’s godmother, Kay Thompson.
