Since Madonna’s one-year Sticky & Sweet Tour played its two final concerts on September 1 and 2 at HaYarkon Park in Tel Aviv, Israel, the Material Girl is now a part of touring history. Not only is hers the most successful tour ever by a solo artist, according to Live Nation, it is also the second highest grossing tour of all time, after the Rolling Stones’ 2005-2007 Bigger Bang Tour.

Live Nation was the global producer for the Sticky & Sweet Tour, as part of the company’s 10-year, $120 million contract with Madonna. The Stones’ tour grossed $508 million during its run.

Sticky & Sweet also broke Madonna’s previous record of most successful tour by a solo artist with her 2006 Confessions Tour, which grossed $194 million.
