This week’s TicketNews exclusive venues rankings have remained fairly stable towards the top with Yankees Stadium and Eugene O’Neill Theatre flip-flopping first and second position week after week as the New York Yankees and “The Book of Mormon” continue to pull in large crowds. However, this week we saw a slip from one of the top three contenders.

Sarofim Hall made a slide from third to the ninth position for the week ending August 12. “The Lion King” has had a big summer consistently being amongst the top of The Broadway League’s top grossing Broadway shows. Tomorrow, August 15 the show will celebrate its 6,138 Broadway performance making it the fifth longest-running Broadway show.

Seizing hold of the third spot from Sarofim Hall this week was MetLife Stadium. MetLife Stadium is gearing up for another busy NFL season playing host to both the New York Giants and New York Jets. Both teams take the field on Saturday, August 18 for a preason matchup.

In addition to football MetLife will host Bruce Springsteen for three nights this September with new blocks of tickets being added just three weeks ago. The stadium is also slated to play host to Wrestlemania XXIX on April 7, 2013. Travel packages to this highly anticipated event went on sale Monday, August 13.

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

TicketNews’ exclusive venues rankings also saw the addition of a few newcomers towards the bottom of the rankings list this week.

The Air Canada Centre makes an appearance on our exclusive TicketNews Rankings List this week with help from Madonna, The Who, and Barbara Streisand. The Centre will also play host to the UFC 152 fights on September 22. This Fight Card is highlighted by the matchup between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson.

Philadelphia Eagles fans are gearing up for the upcoming season by purchasing tickets for home games at Lincoln Financial Field, bumping the stadium to number 18 on our Venues Rankings list for this week. The Eagles regular season home game opener is set for September 16 against the Baltimore Ravens. Owls fans are also picking up tickets for Temple University upcoming football season as well.
