Two of the biggest names in punk rock, Rise Against and Rancid, will band together this summer for an extensive co-headlining tour across North America. The 29-city trek begins June 4 at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC, and wraps July 31 at The Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON.

The two-month tour will complete a coast-to-coast circuit, stopping in most major markets along the way. Highlights of the outing include a June 11 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, a June 24 gig at the Fillmore in Detroit, MI, a July 13 show at The Joint in Las Vegas, a July 20-21 stand at the House of Blues in Orlando, FL, and a July 28-29 run at the House of Blues in Boston, MA.

A total of eight shows are booked in Canada, including the opening and closing dates of the tour. Other stops north of the border are set for a June 7 show at Corral Arena in Calgary, AB, and a June 17 concert at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, QC.

Public onsales for the venture begin on February 27 in select markets. Tickets for the remaining markets will be available February 28, except for the concert at the WaMu Theater in Seattle, WA, where sales start March 6.

Texas-based punk rock band Riverboat Gamblers will provide opening support for all dates in June. Canadian post-hardcore crew Billy Talent will step in as the opener for the remainder of the tour in July.

Founded 10 years ago, Rise Against is touring behind its fifth studio album “Appeal to Reason.” The October 2008 release earned the band its highest-ever placement on the Billboard 200 with a No. 3 peak position and topped the Canadian album charts.

Rancid, a band that has helped popularize punk music in America since its debut in the early ’90s, is also supporting a new record. The as-of-yet untitled project is slated for a spring release and will be the seventh studio release for the group. Rancid’s last album, 2003’s “Indestructible,” peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200.
