The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Case Western Reserve University and Gibson Guitar will present its 2008 American Music Masters Tribute concert honoring Les Paul on November 15 at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theater in Cleveland, OH.

The 13th annual tribute will feature Hall of Famers Billy Gibson (ZZ Top), the Ventures and James Burton (side-man category) as well Slash, Richie Sambora, Jennifer Batten, Dennis Coffey, Lenny Kaye, Steve Lukather, Barbara Lynn and Alannah Myles.

The face value of tickets is priced at $50, $40, and $30. A limited number of Rock Hall VIP event packages priced at $250 and $500 are also available.

The musicians will perform as a tribute to the legendary electric guitar inventor and performer Paul, and the event will tell the story of his life and legacy through multimedia and special tributes. Paul was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 in the Early Influence category.

Paul refined the technology of sound recording, developing revolutionary engineering techniques such as close miking, echo delay, overdubbing and multi-tracking. He also busied himself as a versatile bandleader and performer who could play jazz, country and pop. The Gibson Les Paul guitar is his crowning technical achievement. The list of musicians associated with the Gibson Les Paul include Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, Eddie Van Halen and Jimmy Page. Paul is guitarist Steve Miller’s godfather.
