It’s been more than a month since health issues forced the band off the road, but now hard rock crew Slipknot is getting in shape for a previously teased October tour of North America. A total of 13 shows are booked at the moment, beginning October 10 at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA, and ending October 31 at Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas, NV.

The nine-man masked band cancelled 11 concerts in late August and early September after drummer Joey Jordison suffered a burst appendix. The musician’s sudden hospitalization came just as the Slipknot was set to take the stage for its first late summer concert on August 22 at the Pain in the Grass festival in Auburn, WA.

Due to the last-minute nature of the cancellations, Slipknot promised to reschedule the first two dates of the tour, which are now the opening shows for the October venture. The make-up date in Auburn will be followed closely by the second rescheduled concert on October 11 at Toyota Arena in Kennewick, WA.

The West Coast venture also includes performances on October 15 at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC; October 21 at Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA; and October 29 at Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA. Tickets are already available for select dates of the tour, and more information is available on the official Slipknot Web site.

Deftones will provide support, except on the first two and last two dates of the tour. This includes an October 24 performance at the revived Cypress Hill SmokeOut Festival in San Bernardino, CA, which is being headlined by Slipknot.

Slipknot is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its eponymous debut album, originally released in June 1999 and re-released on September 9 as a special anniversary edition. Prior to the reissue, the band’s most recent album was 2008’s “All Hope Is Gone,” which debuted atop the Billboard 200.
