Since his debut on the rap scene in the early ’90s, Snoop Dogg has evolved from an underdog to a pop culture icon with his own reality television show. The rap artist and producer’s increasingly busy schedule isn’t keeping him off the road, though, with a spring tour leg coming up and a new summer run in the works.

Snoop’s summer plans include a co-headlining venture with punk-reggae band Slightly Stoopid that will take him to at least 18 major amphitheaters across the U.S. and Canada. The Blazed and Confused Tour picks up July 10 at Star of the Desert arena in Primm, NV, and ends August 8 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA.

Highlights of the national tour leg include a July 15 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, a July 18 performance at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, WA, and an August 5 show at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. A single Canadian concert is slated for July 22 at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC.

Snoop Dogg and Slightly Stoopid will trade headlining responsibilities on a nightly basis. Other musical acts will step in as openers throughout the tour, including Stephen Marley. The first public on-sales begin on Saturday, April 25.

Snoop Dogg is on the road promoting his tenth studio album, “Malice in Wonderland,” which is projected for release in September 2009. His spring tour with K’naan kicks off May 1 at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Jackson, MS, and ends May 17 at Shoreline Ballroom in Hilton Head, SC.

Slightly Stoopid, based out of San Diego, is touring behind its fifth studio album, “Chronchitis,” which debuted at No. 55 on the Billboard 200 in August 2007. The group recently followed that effort with the July 2008 compilation “Slightly Not Stoned Enough To Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid,” featuring previously released tracks, rarities, b-sides and new material.
