Steely Dan, one of the most critically lauded bands of the past 35 years, will once again hit the road performing several concerts as part of their Think Fast, Steely Dan Summer Tour 2008 beginning June 8 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The first 14 concert dates have been released and will see the Grammy award-winning duo swing through several East Coast cities before headlining a concert in Canada at the prestigious Ottawa Jazz Festival on July 5. Additional dates for the remainder of the summer are expected to be announced shortly.

Walter Becker and Donald Fagen will draw from their deep, powerful, three-decade-plus catalog of signature hits and album favorites, all of uncompromising quality. The dapper duo will be supported, as always, by their tight, sophisticated band of world-class R&B and jazz players. Set lists may also sample from Fagen’s just released “Nightfly Trilogy” and Becker’s upcoming solo album, “Circus Money” due June 10. They will hand select the opening acts, including rising jazz star Sam Yahel and his Organ Trio for several dates.

Steely Dan have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and helped define the soundtrack of the ’70s with hits including “F.M.,” “Bodhisattva,” “Reelin’ in the Years,” “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Deacon Blues,” “Peg,” “Babylon Sisters,” and “Hey Nineteen,” culled from their seven platinum albums issued between 1972 and 1980 (including 1977’s groundbreaking “Aja”). They reunited in the early ’90s and have toured throughout the decade and beyond, releasing multi-Grammy winner “Two Against Nature” in 2000 and its acclaimed follow-up “Everything Must Go” in 2003. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
