Country duo Sugarland has announced plans for its first European tour this March. After completing the 11-city venture, the musicians will return to the U.S. for alternating stints with Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban‘s summer tours.
The European venture launches with a March 6 performance at the U.S. Army Base in Aviano, Italy, and ends later that month with a March 22 concert at Premier Hall in Thurles, Ireland. The trek, a mix of U.S. military base engagements and theater stops, also includes a March 10 show at Le Showcase in Paris, France, and a March 16 session at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, England.
The musicians will return to the States for an extensive summer run that picks up May 1 with an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, LA. From there, Sugarland will start its supporting duties with Chesney on May 2 at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas, TX, and with Urban on a May 7-8 stand at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
Both Chesney and Urban have a number of acts trading supporting duties on their tours from night to night. As Sugarland switches off between the two tours, the duo of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles will also have time for a few scattered solo dates.
Sugarland is touring in support of its third studio album, 2008’s “Love on the Inside,” which topped the Billboard 200 and country albums charts. The single “Stay” recently earned the group two Grammys for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Country Song.
Sugarland’s next shows will be a February 26-27 stand at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA.
