Cher is an iconic American performer who got her start in the mid-1960s, achieving quick success with then-husband Sonny Bono as part of the folk singing duo Sonny & Cher. The overnight popularity of the pair was largely driven by their smash single “I Got You Babe” and sustained through the early ’70s by their variety television appearances.
Though Cher’s career has experience ups and downs over the years, she has proven successful with her solo music career, as well as in films and musicals. Currently, she has signed a deal for a three-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.
Ticket sales for her show have been strong, consistently placing her on TicketNews’s exclusive events rankings. The end of her first year ended on a low-note, as the performer was forced to cancel some late 2008 performances due to ongoing throat problems. Despite the year-end rash of cancellations, Cher returned to Caesars at the start of 2009 for a fresh batch of dates.
