Dolly Parton is an American country singer-songwriter whose career has spanned 40 years. She has released dozens of albums over the years, including a number of recent “themed” albums, including patriotic, folk and pop cover songs. However, Parton remains best known and loved for her country twang and stage persona.

Parton is a shrewd business woman, whose ventures have included film and theatre, as well as her Dollywood themepark. Recently, she penned songs for the Broadway musical “9 to 5.” The musical, which has also completed runs at regional theatres across the country, is based on a 1980 film that starred Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.

Parton tours both nationally and internationally. Her North American tours are usually booked for large theater venues, while her European tours can fill stadiums and arenas as she performs overseas less often and stages fewer concerts while there.
