Set to deploy on February 3rd, 2010, the joint tour of Elton John and Billy Joel will be hitting cities across the USA through March 10th, 2010. This is the third time the duo will be touring together since joining forces in 1994 and again in 2003, which was a sold-out run. The performances will alternate between John and Joel sharing the stage, to each of them performing separately with their respective bands. The early 2010 dates were make ups for several cancelled shows in 2009, due to illnesses affecting both performers. In addition, a planned summer 2010 outing was scrapped by Joel for personal reasons.

Elton John and Billy Joel have sold 250 million and 100 million records, respectively, making them two of the best selling artists of all time. Elton’s tribute to Princess Diana, “Candle in the Wind,” became the best selling single of all time with 37 million copies sold, and Joel’s singles “My Life” and “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me” went platinum in 1978 and 1980, respectively.
