UK-based GET ME IN! is one of Europe’s leading online ticket marketplace “where fans can buy and sell live entertainment tickets for sport, concert, theatre, opera and other events,” according to the company’s Web site. GetMeIn, with competitors viagogo and Seatwave, make up a formidable trio of ticket companies that largely control much of the UK secondary ticket market. The company was founded in, and remains based in, London in 2003, and it has also launched Web sites in Germany and the Netherlands.

GetMeIn concentrates on providing tickets to live events, specializing in trying to offer fans “fair market prices, even when the event is ‘sold out’.” It was bought by Ticketmaster in early 2008; while financial terms were not disclosed, it is believed that the company was purchased for far less than the $265 million Ticketmaster paid for U.S.-based secondary ticket company TicketsNow.
