Kanye West is an American hip-hop artist who has become as well known for his tantrums as for his inventive approach to and redefinition of his genre. Since his 2004 debut, “The College Dropout,” West has been both critically and commercially well-received. All of his albums have been RIAA-certified multi-platinum, except for his late 2008 release “808s & Heartbreak,” which currently hovers at platinum status. Additionally, all of his albums since the No. 2 placed “Dropout” have held the top slot on the Billboard 200.

West has had widespread success on tour, as well, with tours booked primarily in large-scale arenas and amphitheatres across North America, Europe and Australia. Despite his success or perhaps because of it,West has also become a target for his often incendiary remarks in the press and perceived arrogant behavior or disregard for punctuality at a few concerts. Most notably, West appeared on stage at the 2008 Bonnaroo Festival a couple hours late, which he attributed to the long set-up time for his production and inadequate time allowed for the proper set-up.
