Neil Young is a Canadian singer-songwriter who blends elements of rock, country and folk in his music. Nationally, Young has sold more than 17.5 million solo records and an additional 18 million as a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the early 1970s. As a solo artist, he has performed with a wide range of musicians, but his best known backing band has been Crazy Horse. During his career, Young has been a key influence in various subgenres of rock, including grunge, for which he has earned the nickname “the Godfather of Grunge.” He remains a prolific recording artist and a popular touring act. When he’s on the road to support a new album, he is usually booked into medium to large arenas.
