Rock band Oasis formed early in the 1990s and led Brit-pop bands on the U.S. charts with the 1995 release “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” The group remains a solid competitor on the U.S. charts, with five of their six albums placing within the top 10 on the Billboard 200. The band has often been plagued by the in-fighting between band leaders and brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.
During the band’s 2008 tour of North America, guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher was attacked on stage mid-performance. His injuries forced the band to cancel or postpone a series of concerts. Though their ticket sales don’t place them in the same league as top-sellers like Bruce Springsteen or Madonna, Oasis strictly books arenas and stadiums during their North American tours.
