Robert Plant is an English vocalist and musician who became an international star as the frontman for ’70s rock icon Led Zeppelin. After the band split in 1980, Plant pursued a solo career, which has earned him critical acclaim and commercial success. Including his 1982 solo debut “Pictures at Eleven,” Plant has released about a dozen solo and collaborative albums.
Plant’s most recent work has been a partnership with bluegrass musician Alison Krauss, with whom he created the award-winning October 2007 release “Raising Sand.” The pair toured together to support the project throughout 2008, visiting concert halls and theaters across North America and Europe.
Though Plant is dedicated to his solo work, speculation risen several times in recent years as to whether Plant would regroup with surviving Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones for a tour. While his former bandmates and sources close to the group have been persistent that something is in the works, Plant has repeatedly denied desiring any involvement with a new Led Zeppelin project.
