One of country music’s fastest rising stars is young singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. In 2006, she made her major label debut at the age of 17 with an eponymous album that debuted within the Top 20 on the Billboard 200. Two years later, she followed with “Fearless,” an album that spent eight straight weeks at the top of the music charts.
While Swift started out as a supporting act on a number of country music tours, she quickly showed her power at the box office as a headliner for special concert events and festival appearances. In 2008, AEG Live and The Messina Group announced that Swift’s first-ever headlining tour was in the works. The extensive six-month trek, which is scheduled to hit more than 50 cities, was announced early in February 2009 and is sure to be a standout during the summer touring season.
