The TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA is the home of the defending World Champion Boston Celtics basketball team, and the Boston Bruins hockey team. Opened in September 1995, the Garden has undergone several name changes, and will be known as the TD Garden beginning in July 2009.
The Garden replaced the old Boston Garden, and was built for $160 million. Other major sporting events held in the facility include the annual college hockey “Beanpot” tournament, which features Harvard, Northeastern, Boston University and Boston College, the Boston Blazers indoor lacrosse team.
In addition to sports, the Garden also hosts major popular music concerts by the likes of U2, Celine Dion and Bruce Springsteen.
