Tickets.com is a business-to-business primary ticketing solutions provider, and seller of tickets for sports and live events. The company is the nation’s second-largest primary ticket seller and the third-largest overall ticket seller, according to TicketNews’s exclusive industry rankings.
The company, which is owned by Major League Baseball, is located in Costa Mesa, CA, and in 2009 announced a deal with StubHub and Ballena Technologies to offer fans the chance to view 3-D venue maps and buy tickets from them.
Tickets.com considers itself a full-service ticket solutions provider, utilizing several integrated ticketing solutions “designed to enable entertainment and sports organizations to sell tickets to consumers under the clients’ brand.” Tickets are sold via the Web, mobile phones, retail outlets, call centers and kiosks, among other channels. In addition, Tickets.com system allows clients to safely gather certain customer data for marketing purposes.
The company is the official ticket company for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, and in addition to North America, it has clients in Europe, Australia and Latin America.
