Veritix, formerly known as Flash Seats, is an electronic ticketing solutions provider that allows stadiums, venues, theaters, arenas and promoters to own and control their “entire ticketing operation,” according to the company. By employing Veritix’s state-of-the-art digital ticketing system, facilities can offer fans paperless ticketing options utilizing kiosks or swipe-card technologies on the primary ticketing side, and internet-based resale or ticket transferring on the secondary side, among other options.
The company was formed after Cleveland, OH-based Flash Seats acquired Dallas, TX-based Vertical Alliance and renamed the new entity Veritix. Flash Seats was owned by Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.
In the summer and fall of 2007, the company sued Ticketmaster, and Ticketmaster’s Paciolan subsidiary, for alleged anti-trust and anti-competitive behavior because Veritix claimed the ticketing giant tried to strong-arm the Cavaliers into not using Flash Seats technology. As of March 2009, the cases were still pending.
