Voodoo Experience is a multi-day music and arts festival in New Orleans and is often referred to as the Voodoo Fest. It usually takes place Halloween weekend but has been the weekend before Halloween. Voodoo Experience has hosted over 450 artists and has been nominated twice for Pollstar’s Music Festival of the Year. The 2009 festival headlined Kiss, Eminem, Jane’s Addiction, Lenny Kravitz, Widespread Panic and The Flaming Lips.
The festival started in 1999 as a one day music festival with about 8,000 attendees. In 2007, the festival expanded to 3 days and broke all previous attendance records with about 100,000 attendees.
