Electronic duo The Crystal Method is heading out on the road this fall for a series of exclusive DJ sets at clubs across the country. The trek starts October 9 at Tentation Ultra Lounge in Newport Beach, CA, and continues through December 19 at the Epic Center in Minneapolis, MN.

The 30-date run also features an October 25 gig at Webster Hall in New York, NY, and a November 29 show at Vision in Chicago, IL. Four Canadian dates are also thrown into the mix near the end of the coast-to-coast North American circuit.

The Crystal Method, comprised of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland, are touring in preparation for their fifth studio album, a follow-up to their 2006 release, “Drive.” The disc, which featured new and remixed songs, was mixed as a continuous 45-minute track for Nike to market as a runners workout mix. The pair’s last entirely original album was 2004’s “Legion of Boom.”

In a late July interview with Stereo Subversion, Jordan and Kirkland discussed the timeline for the new release, which is yet untitled and without a release date.

“Ken’s always been overly optimistic when it comes to our releases. It just takes awhile to get it done right. Plus you never know, in this business…your next record could be your last record, so you always want to make sure to do the best you can to get the album sounding the way you want it to sound,” Kirkland explained. “It will be out this year, that I can guarantee. You can put it down on paper. I will be out this year.”

The Crystal Method formed in the early ’90s in Los Angeles, CA. Though their full-length studio recordings have been limited, Jordan and Kirkland have provided soundtracks for numerous films and television shows, including “Tropic Thunder” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” The Crystal Method is best known for the remix of Filter’s “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do,” which was featured in the movie “Spawn” in 1997.
