College Football National Championship takes controls of the event rankings

Renamed in 2014, from the BCS National Championship Game to the College Football Championship, this very popular football game often likened to the Super Bowl of college football, landed in the No. 1 position. The name of the event was changed after many years due to a new system which was established to determine the elimination tournament. This year’s game will be played between the Alabama Crimson Tide vs Clemson Tigers on January 9th at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
Another new event on the rankings this week is the exhibition basketball team, The Harlem Globetrotters, who landed in the No. 9 spot. The team, which puts on a show full of spectacular tricks, originated in the 1920’s and has played more than 29,000 games in 122 countries.
Some upcoming cities them will perform in include:, Peoria, Albuquerque, Jonesboro, St. Louis, Memphis, Jackson, Monroe, Murray, Santa Rosa, Evansville, Oakland, Erie, Tulsa, Seattle, Hartford, Tampa, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Denver and many more.
Also new to the rankings this week is the upcoming NFC home game between the Dallas Cowboys and a TBD opponent. The game is scheduled to be played at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington on January 15th. The game grabbed the No. 4 position.
The Monster Jam truck tour also new to the rankings this week, landed in the No. No. 8 position. The live motor-sport event features racing and freestyle competitions by monster trucks.
The event tours all over North America and hosts city stops including: Charlotte, Des Moines, Nashville, Tulsa, Worcester, Knoxville, Anaheim, Tampa, Milwaukee, Washington, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Wilkes Barre, Hidalgo, Bridgeport, Atlanta, Bridgeport and many more.
Coming in the No. 2 spot down from last week’s No. 1, is pop-singer Bruno Mars with his 24K Magic World tour. The tour will kick-offs the North American leg at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 15 and will wrap at the Forum in Los Angeles on November 11. Some other cities on the tour include: Sacramento, Portland, Vancouver, Fargo, Lincoln, Kansas City, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Memphis, Louisville, New York, Newark, Washington D.C., Boston, Orlando, New Orleans, Little Rock, Dallas, Denver, Oakland and Phoenix.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers moved down into the No. 5 position from last week’s No. 2 spot, while Red Hot Chili Peppers took the No. 6 spot from last week’s No. 4. Ever present theater favorites Hamilton, The Lion King and Wicked also landed on the rankings in the No. 3, 6 and 10 positions respectively.
The Raymond James Stadium Makes a Strong Debut on the Venue Rankings

Landing in the No. 2 position this week is the Raymond James football Stadium located in Tampa. The venue landed on the rankings with a big boost from the upcoming College Football Championship game which will be held at the multi-purpose football stadium on January 9th. This year’s game will be played between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Clemson Tigers.
The venue is home to the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and features a 103 foot pirate ship which fires replica cannons each time the Buccaneers score point or enters the other teams red zone and are ready to score. The stadium has a seating capacity of 66,321 and will host other upcoming events such as the Monster Jam, the Sunset Music Festival, and a CONCACAF Gold Cup game.
Also new to the venue rankings this week is the Georgia Dome in Atlanta which landed in the No. 6 position. The venue is home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and landed on the rankings with some help from the upcoming NFC Divisional game being held on January 14th and featuring a TBD opponent. Other upcoming events being held at the venue include: Battle of the Bands, AMSOIL Arenacross, AMA Monster Energy Supercross, and Monster Jam.
Madison Square Garden retained its No. 1 spot again as it has for several weeks while the AT&T moved up into the No. 3 spot from last week’s No. 7. The Staples Center in Los Angeles landed the No. 4 position this week while the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas grabbed the No. 5 spot. The American Airlines Arena grabbed the No. 7 spot while The Richard Rodgers theatre, home to Broadway favorite Hamilton moved down from last week’s No. 6 to the No. 8 position. The Air Canada Centre and the United Center rounded out the rankings in the No. 9 and 10 positions respectively.
