The Eagles have been added to the 42nd Annual CMA Awards, which airs live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN, on November 12. The CMAs are one of the rare televised award shows that make award ceremony tickets available for fans to come and celebrate with the industry.

Previously announced performers for “Country Music’s Biggest Night” include co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood along with Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and The Wailers, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

Tickets for the 2008 CMA Awards are on sale now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or in person at the Sommet Center box office at 501 Broadway (corner of Fifth Avenue and Broadway), Nashville, TN. Face value for tickets begins at $110 for Bronze-level seating (upper level), $327.75 for Silver-level seating (club level), and $382.50 for Gold-level seating (lower level). All prices include sales tax but exclude applicable service/handling fees.

“We were honored last year when the Eagles chose the CMA Awards to give their first televised Awards performance,” said Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Executive Officer, in a statement. “We are excited to welcome them back again this year as both performers and nominees.”

The Eagles are nominated for CMA Vocal Group of the Year. This is their third nomination in that category, following nominations in 1976 and 1977. In 1993, Eagles’ drummer Don Henley was nominated for CMA Vocal Event of the Year with Trisha Yearwood for “Walkaway Joe,” which the two performed together during the 1992 CMA Awards.

The band gave their first performance on a televised awards show on the 2007 CMA Awards. They were also the inspiration for the CMA 1994 Album of the Year, “Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles.”
