The operatic pop band Il Divo is gearing up for its world tour in support of its fifth album “The Promise” with a performance at the Inaugural Purple Ball honoring President Barack Obama on January 20 in Washington, DC.

The 2009 An Evening with Il Divo tour kicks off February 21 in Manchester, ENG, and has already sold out 75 percent in Europe, including multiple nights in Dublin, IRE; London, ENG; Manchester, ENG; and Rotterdam, NET. The tour then heads to North America, Australia and Asia.

In the United Sates, the tour kicks off on May 8 at the Patriot Center in Washington, DC. The May 19-20 shows at the Rosemount in Chicago, IL have already sold out.

Twenty-four new dates have been added to the tour, 10 of which are to go on sale between January 31 and February 2: Susquehanna Bank Center in Philadelphia, PA on May 10; Mohegan, CT on May 12; Fox Theater in Detroit, MI on May 17; Comcast Arena at Everett in Everett, WA on June 2; Rose Garden in Portland, OR on June 3; Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA on July 1; Fox Theater in St. Louis, MO on July 10; Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO on July 11; Wells Fargo Theater in Denver, CO on July 13; and Dodge Theater in Phoenix, AZ on July 15.
