Grammy-winning country artists Zac Brown Band announced on The Woodlands Center website that they will donate $1 from every ticket sold to this Saturday’s concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. In addition, they are offering free lawn seats to all first responders who helped those affected by the recent storm.
The band is currently on tour promoting their newest album Welcome Home, which they described to Facebook fans as “the most personal album we’ve ever written”. Houston is just one of the 40+ stops on their North American tour, and questions were raised about whether the show would go on after the flooding and damage the city of Houston saw when record-breaking Hurricane Harvey hit.
Not only is the band committed to performing, they’ve decided to donate a portion of ticket proceeds to the Justin J. Watt Foundation that will benefit the Houston Flood Relief Fund. They’re also encouraging all concert-goers who can to bring non-perishable items like canned food, bottled water, personal care items, and cleaning supplies to the venue. Donation items will be collected at the North and South gates of The Pavilion by radio stations KKBQ and KILT from 5:30-7:00 PM before the concert. They will be donated to the Montgomery County Food Bank.
Their generosity doesn’t stop there: ZBB would like to give two free tickets in the lawn section to any first responders who helped provide aide in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Those looking to attend are asked to bring their first responder badges or official ID to The Pavilion Box Office to be redeemed while supplies lasts.
