There’s no stopping consummate performer Celine Dion. With the five-year residency of her record-breaking show, A New Day, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas coming to an end on Dec. 15, Dion is already working on the next chapter of her career – a 2008-09 world tour.

The North American leg of Dion’s “Taking Chances World Tour” launches Aug. 12, 2008 in Boston and winds down Jan. 30, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Prior to the North American dates, Dion will launch the tour in February 2008 in South Africa, then head to Asia and Europe.

Dion’s Las Vegas residency has been wildly successful, with tickets for the show routinely topping TicketNews’ exclusive weekly ranking of best-selling Las Vegas shows. And the upcoming tour promises to be another spectacular live concert event where Dion will perform her biggest hits, along with songs from her new English album, “Taking Chances,” which will be released on Nov. 13. The show is being directed by Jamie King (Madonna’s Confessions World Tour, Christina Aguilera’s Back to Basics World Tour, Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca World Tour), and AEG Live, producer of A New Day, will also produce her world tour. Tickets are slated to go on sale Nov. 16.

“These past five years of performing at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas have been an incredibly rewarding experience for myself and my family, but I’m ready to hit the road again, with my husband and son by my side”, Dion said in a statement, adding the tour will feature a new show.
