Tennessee-based Paramore has booked an extensive world tour that started June 2 in Dublin, Ireland and includes 12 European shows, concluding June 18 in Paris, France. The band returns to the U.S. to play Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI on June 30 and then five dates on the main stage at the Vans Warped Tour July 1-6.
After a few shows near the end of July, they will start their big summer tour, The Final RIOT!–Paramore Summer Tour ’08, with Jack’s Mannequin, Phantom Planet and Paper Route from July 28 in Reno, NV through August 30 in Wallingfor, CT. And, if that was not enough, they shoot out overnight to Seattle, WA for the Bambershoot Festival on September 1.
Paramore will also find time in their jam-packed schedule to join John Mayer for two special shows, August 19 in Charlotte, NC and August 20 in Pittsburgh, PA.
The band’s latest album “RIOT!” made an explosive chart entry upon its June 2007 release. Boasting two top 5 Modern Rock radio hits in “Misery Business” and “Crushcrushcrush,” the album quickly went on to achieve RIAA gold certification, with sales of more than 880,000. An array of accolades followed, including a “Best New Artist” nomination at this year’s 50th Annual Grammy Awards and “Band of the Year” honors from Alternative Press.
