Beck, best know for his 1994 breakthrough hit “Loser”, has 16 concerts booked from August 21 in Reno, NV through October 2-3 in Chicago, IL. The October 3 show at the Aragon Ballroom is sold out. The Brooklyn-based futurist rock/pop ensemble MGMT picks up the tour in midstream and opens from September 22-October 3.
Beck will be promoting his new eighth studio album “Modern Guilt,” which was released on July 8. Strangely, in the CD era when an hour-plus worth of music can easily be contained within, the “Modern Guilt” has less than 34 minutes of music. Beck collaborated with producer Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton, part of the Gnarls Barkley duo, on the 10 track album.
The vinyl edition of the album includes download codes for high-quality (320 kbps) MP3s “produced from a playback of the vinyl master,” according to a press release.
