Alternative rock/rappers Flobots are out on their first national tour in support of their critically acclaimed debut album, “Fight With Tools.” Released on May 20, the album’s hit single “Handlebars” quickly became a big hit at Alternative Radio and is currently making its mark at Top 40.

After finishing up a leg of U.S. and Canadian dates on September 1 at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, WA, the 7-piece collective from Denver heads overseas for a string of European and UK dates from September 9-23. A September 27 show in Queen Creek, AZ at Edgefest follows.

The group formed as a side project in 2005, and brought together emcees Jonny 5 and Brer Rabbit with classically trained violist Mackenzie Roberts, guitarist Andy Guerrero, bassist Jesse Walker, trumpeter Joe Ferrone, and drummer Kenny Ortiz. The group’s songs blend social injustice with a playful disdain of anything status quo.

Flobots will undoubtedly have a presence around this year’s Democratic National Convention in Denver with their nonprofit, www.flobots.org, which connects fans to social change organizations.
