In a rare hometown appearance, the legendary Phil Lesh and Friends will headline the second day, August 31, of the two-day Slow Food Rocks Music Festival, which is being held during Slow Food Nation, the largest celebration of American food in history. The event takes place at Great Meadow at Fort Mason, part of Golden Gate National Park in San Francisco, CA over Labor Day Weekend. Grammy-winning Gnarls Barkley, will headline the event on August 30 with Ozomatli, The New Pornographers, and Medeski, Martin & Wood. Joining Phil Lesh and Friends on August 31 are G. Love & Special Sauce and the John Butler Trio.

Single-day general admission ticket prices are $59; $69 for advance sales (after July 10); $79 at the door; and children age 5-12, $10. Single-day reserve advance tickets are $89; at the door, $99; and children age 5-12, $20. Two-day general admission tickets are $120 for advance sales; children age 5-12, $20; Two-day reserve advance tickets are $160; children age 5-12, $40.

Slow Food Nation will bring together tens of thousands to experience an enormous range of activities highlighting the connection between plate and planet. All food and beverage vendors for the music festival will be sourced through Slow Food Nation, representing the best in good, clean and fair prepared foods, meats, produce, micro-brews and wine. Slow Food Nation is partnering with Food & Water Watch and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to develop accessible and visible water stations. All water will be free of charge. Slow Food Nation strives to be a plastic-free event, and is encouraging patrons to bring their own reusable water bottle.
