To celebrate the global success of the record-breaking debut from Daughtry, fronted by former “American Idol” finalist Chris Daughtry, a deluxe version of the band’s debut will be rereleased on September 9. Daughtry will promote the special edition with a 15-date tour, starting on August 15 in Las Vegas, NV, and wrapping on September 13 in York, PA.
A hit on more than four continents, the self-titled album has already earned platinum status in the U.S. and Canada, plus gold certification in Singapore, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, to name a few.
Powered by a trio of No. 1 songs, “It’s Not Over,” “Home,” and “Feels Like Tonight,” Daughtry has become the biggest selling release of the past two years and the fastest selling rock debut in SoundScan history. The expanded CD/DVD version of the group’s self-titled debut features the album’s original 12 songs along with four bonus tracks on the CD. Making its debut on this collection is a cover of the Foreigner classic, “Feels like the First Time.”
During the supporting tour, Daughtry will take breaks to join both national political conventions in order to promote the ONE Campaign. ONE is a nonpartisan group dedicated to raising awareness about the issues of global poverty, hunger and disease. As part of the promotion, Daughtry will take part in a full schedule of activities during select dates of the Democratic (August 25-28; Denver, CO) and Republican (September 1-4; Minneapolis, MN) conventions.
The socially-conscious band will also donate proceeds from the new video for its latest single, “What About Now,” to numerous charitable organizations, including Amnesty International and Doctors Without Borders.
