Singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams has lined up a short nine-city West Coast tour starting on August 25 in San Diego, CA, and wrapping on September 6 in Santa Cruz, CA. The trek was built around her appearances at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, OR, on August 28 and the Bumbershoot Festival on August 30 in Seattle, WA.
For most of July, Williams opened for John Mellencamp. Last fall, she performed five of her albums in their entirety over five nights in Los Angeles and in New York.
Each night also featured a second set with special guest stars, including Steve Earle, Allison Moorer, Ann Wilson, Emmylou Harris, David Byrne, Yo La Tengo and Chuck Prophet. In addition, each night’s album set was recorded and made available to the attendees that night and are currently available on her Web site, LuncindaWilliams.com.
Williams is still promoting her 2007 album, “West,” which garnered two Grammy Award nominations. She is finishing her next album, “Little Honey,” which features guest contributors Elvis Costello, Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs, Jim Lauderdale and Charlie Louvin.
