The Christian metalcore band Underoath has announced five additional dates on its extensive 13-week tour. Tacked on to the end of the North American leg, the additional shows are scheduled for San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Tempe, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; and Houston, TX. The North American portion of Underoath’s world trek kicks off October 4 in Honolulu, HI, and wraps with the new Houston gig on November 23.
Underoath will perform three North American warm-up shows over the course of the next two weeks — in Mexico, the U.S., and Canada — before hopping a plane for 20 performances overseas. The September leg of the tour features stops in the UK, Europe, South Africa, and Australia.
The tour supports “Lost in the Sound of Separation,” Underoath’s sixth studio album, which is due on September 2. The record is a follow-up to 2006’s “Define the Great Line” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard charts and is certified Gold. Underoath debuted in 1999 with “Act of Depression.”
Underoath’s North American tour will feature a rotating line-up of supporting bands: Saosin, The Devil Wears Prada, P.O.S., and The Famine. Person L will also join the line-up after completing tour dates with Motion City Soundtrack and Chiodos.
