Big paydays are the norm for artists who play private shows, and recently Dubai in the United Arab Emirates has emerged as the most lucrative location for such events.

While Live Nation recently shot down rumors that Madonna would perform in Dubai in November, Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue has confirmed two concerts with Middle East AEG Live producing. The speculation was that Madonna would have gotten $20 million, but published reports are placing Minogue’s paycheck in the ballpark of $4 million.

On November 20, she will perform at a private party for 2,000 celebrities thrown by the managers of a new luxury hotel on Palm Island. Minogue will follow that performance with a November 21 outdoor show at a shopping mall for approximately 20,000 people.

The 40-year-old Minogue is an international pop diva, but never really broke in the United States. She is best known for her 2001 dance hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” which topped most of the international charts but capped out at No. 7 in the United States.

However, Minogue made more news in the states for surviving breast cancer in 2005 and hitting the comeback trail this year after a few concert cancellations. She has performed for more than a half-million fans since starting her world tour X2008 in Paris in May. She will be playing South America before going to Dubai and performing in Australia and New Zealand afterwards.
