Michael Bolton tour maps Europe, returns to U.S. for New Year
After performing at the 10th Annual Rosemary Clooney Concert on September 27, pop rock balladeer Michael Bolton will launch a fall and winter European tour. The 23-date trek begins September 30 at the Auditorium Manzoni in Bologna, ITA, and continues through November 16 when he performs at Festsaal Messe AVO in Basel, SWI.
Along the way, the soft rock tenor has dates booked for an October 26-27 run at Royal Albert Hall in London, UK, and a November 11 gig at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, RUS. Following the European run, Bolton will appear at the Cayman Music Festival on the Cayman Islands before returning to the States with a December 14 show at Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, NY, and three late-January shows.
Bolton’s most recent studio album was 2006’s “Bolton Swings Sinatara,” which the singer described on his Web site as a long-standing dream project of his. “For years I’ve kept a list of dream projects,” Bolton described. “At the top of that list was an album of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra.”
The singer also released a holiday-themed album in 2007, “A Swingin’ Christmas,” on which Bolton covered Christmas standards with his signature big band-style.
Over the course of his career, Bolton has released a string of multi-platinum albums and chart-topping singles. His 1991 album, “Time, Love and Tenderness,” had four No. 1 singles on the adult contemporary charts and was RIAA-certified as an eight-time multi-platinum release.
