She spent a good portion of the summer supporting Coldplay, but experimental rocker Santogold isn’t quitting the road anytime soon. The singer has set up a 16-date headlining trek, beginning September 19 at the Fillmore in New York, NY, and wrapping October 14 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA.

Santogold, whose real name is Santi White, is scheduled for one Canadian concert on September 24 at the Phoenix Concert Theater in Toronto, ON. The tour will take her from coast to coast in support of her 2008 eponymous debut, which placed at No. 77 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the electronic charts.

Before beginning her solo career, White was lead singer for punk band Stiffed, based out of Philadelphia, PA. The band released albums in 2003 and 2005, during which time White was approached with solo offers. Her solo music, which she performs under her stage name, maintains some of her earlier punk influences, but also explores the sounds of ’80s new wave, electronic and dub.

Santogold was signed as the opening act for select dates during July and August for Coldplay’s North American tour. She played seven cities with the British rockers, including her native Philadelphia.
