Puddle of Mudd just finished a summer of touring, but the hard rockers start another leg of shows tonight (October 3) that will keep them on the road through late November. Tonight’s show takes place at the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson, MS, and the music will continue through the band’s November 29 performance at Austin’s Saloon in Libertyville, IL.
Highlights of the tour include a November 14 gig at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ, and a November 23 performance at Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay, WI. Hard rock bands Red, Ashes Divide and Temperedcast will provide support for all regular tour dates beginning with the October 27 show at Whiskey River in Waco, TX.
In addition to the headlining tour, Puddle of Mudd will make several festival appearances this fall, beginning with the Bayfest Music Festival on October 4 in Mobile, AL. The rockers share billing with Buckcherry, Shinedown and Saving Abel. Avenged Sevenfold had been slated to appear, as well, but cancelled thier fall performances due to vocal strain suffered by lead singer M. Shadows.
At the end of the month, they will co-headline the Freakers Ball with Mudvayne on Halloween at Nokia Live in Grand Prairie, TX.
Puddle of Mudd is touring in support of their fifth studio album, “Famous,” released in 2007. The disc peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200, and generated the No. 1 single “Psycho.”
“We had a lot of time to write and then make the record, as opposed to our second record where we were writing while we were recording. This time we had time to live life and have experiences to talk about,” bassist Douglas Ardito explained in a statement on the band’s official MySpace page. “We’re not using DJ turntables and synths and all that stuff. We’re just trying to pull out the honesty and make another batch of great songs for people to listen to.”
