The beat goes on for the percussion-driven jam band Rusted Root that just completed a summer tour that spanned June through early October. The Pittsburgh-based crew will continue touring the U.S. with additional November and December dates as the group awaits the release of its sixth studio album.

The five-date November trek begins November 6 at Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo, NY, and wraps with a November 11 show at The Canopy Club in Urbana, IL. Rusted Root will then be back on the road for five more shows, beginning with a December 27-28 run at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL, and closing out the year on December 31 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH.

Throughout their 2008 touring season, Rusted Root has been performing tracks from the upcoming studio album, “Stereo Rodeo.” It will be the band’s first studio recording since 2002’s “Welcome to My Party,” which broke into the Billboard 200 with a peak entry at No. 129.

“Our fans are the cream of the crop,” frontman Michael Glabicki said in an early summer statement on the Rusted Root MySpace profile. “They have been critical to the music we have created. The songs on the upcoming record, I feel, are our best to date [so] I am jonesing to get in front of our audience and let the alchemy begin.”

Rusted Root debuted in 1992 with “Cruel Sun,” though the band’s major label breakthrough came two years later with “When I Woke.” The RIAA-certified Platinum record peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 and gave the band a foothold on college radio charts across the nation.
