International indie darlings Bloc Party will be busy over the next few months as they continue to support their latest release with an extended world tour. The British rockers begin the jaunt with a few dates in Brazil before continuing on to Australia, the U.S., the UK and Germany.

The party continues tomorrow (November 8) with a concert at the Terra Festival in São Paulo, Brazil, and wraps for the year on December 16 at the House of Blues in San Diego, CA. Bloc Party revs up again in 2009 with a series of two-night stands in the UK, including the opening January 25-26 sets at the Academy in Glasgow, Scotland, and the tour-closing March 11-12 gigs at Olympia in London, England.

In addition to the art-punk band’s year-closing show in San Diego, four more shows are booked for the Southwest region of the States. The jaunt begins December 10 at the new Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA, and includes a December 12 concert at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.

Bloc Party is supporting their third full-length studio album, “Intimacy,” released October 27 on V2 Records. So far the album has peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard 200, a slightly lower showing than 2007’s “A Weekend in the City,” which peaked at No. 12 on the main chart and hit No. 1 on the Top Independent Albums chart.

The band made a strong debut in 2005 with the critically acclaimed “Silent Alarm,” an album that broke onto the charts in more than 10 countries around the world.
