After more than a decade on the scene, indie giants Jimmy Eat World have gained a clearer perspective on their success. Now the rockers plan to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their classic album “Clarity” with a series of cover-to-cover performances on the East and West Coasts.
The Clarity x 10 Tour kicks off February 23 at Terminal 5 in New York, NY, and wraps its appropriate 10-show run on March 7 at The Marquee in Tempe, AZ. Along the way, the band will perform a February 26 gig at the House of Blues in Boston, MA, and a March 5 show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA, among others.
Presales for all dates of the tour will begin this Thursday (November 13), according to an announcement on the band’s official Web site. Public onsales for most dates follow on November 15, except for San Francisco, which goes on sale November 16, and Boston, which is yet to be announced.
The Phoenix-based band Reuben’s Accomplice will support the opening nights of the tour through March 4. Experimental rockers No Knife will pick up supporting duties for the remaining performances through March 7.
Jimmy Eat World released their third studio album, “Clarity,” in 1999 and reissued a remastered version of the disc in 2007 with bonus tracks. Though the 2001 follow-up “Bleed American” was the band’s first commercial success, peaking on the Billboard 200 at No. 54, “Clarity” was a critical success and has generally received high marks from reviewers.
