Dave Matthews Band has announced plans for a two-show run at Boston’s legendary Fenway Park on May 29-30. … Best known for their roles in the fictional band Spinal Tap, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer will tour the nation this spring for the Unwigged & Unplugged Tour, performing acoustic renditions of their film songs. … Nickelback has unleashed the next stage of its 2009 North American tour plans: 30 amphitheatre concerts across the U.S. this summer.
In other concert news, fans of Elton John & Billy Joel ran into some problems trying to purchase tickets for the pair’s concert at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. … The All-American Rejects will start a new leg of tour dates early next month to support their latest release, “When the World Comes Down.” … San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival will return for a second year this summer, under a new five-year contract with the city.

Neko Case will follow her current East Coast and Midwest tour dates with a new 10-city run of the West Coast this spring. The first leg of the tour launched March 31 at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheatre in Austin, TX, and wraps April 26 at The State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN. The new outing picks up May 28 at Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, and closes out June 14 appearance at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Highlights of the outing are a May 30 show at Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO, a June 3 gig at Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC, and a June 5 performance at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR.
Lady Sovereign will tour the U.S. and Canada this May with a month-long, 20-city trek that spans from coast to coast. The jaunt opens on May 1 at Lee’s Place in Toronto, ON, and concludes May 28 at the House of Blues in San Diego, CA. Featured stops in the U.S. are May 4 at HighLine Ballroom in New York, NY; May 9 at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC; May 14 at Metro / Smart Bar in Chicago, IL; May 21 at Crocodile Café in Seattle, WA; and May 26 at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Canadian gigs are booked for May 2 at Club Soda in Montreal, QC, and May 22 at Richard’s on Richards Cabaret in Vancouver, BC.
Kelly Clarkson has a handful of new solo concerts and fair appearances lined up for 2009. New solo gigs are inked for March 28 at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL; June 11 at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT; and July 26 at Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa Amphitheatre in Kelseyville, CA. New event appearances fall on July 29 at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, OH; September 11 at the York Fair in York, PA; and September 12 at Allegan County Fair in Allegan, MI.
Taproot will hit the tour trail in about two weeks for a 24-city trek across the U.S. The venture starts March 19 at Peabody’s Downunder in Cleveland, OH, and ends May 2 at Small Planet in East Lansing, MI. Additional shows are set for March 27 at Fuzion in Wichita, KS; April 3 at Club Rio in San Antonio, TX; Aprl 10 at Chics in El Paso, TX; April 16 at Wasted Space at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV; and April 22 at El Corazon in Seattle, WA, among other dates.
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists have a block of East Coast shows scheduled for early summer. The punk rockers have one show coming up on April 11 at Rice University in Houston, TX, and then will be back on the road for a stretch of nine shows beginning June 8 at Ottobar in Baltimore, MD. Other shows are set for June 11 at 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA; June 14 at Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN; and June 16 at Diesel Club Lounge in Pittsburgh, PA. The last date of the tour is currently penciled in for June 19 at Toad’s Place in New Haven, CT.
