Ticket sales and fan demand continue to surpass expectations for the recently reunited New Kids on the Block. After popular North American tour legs in fall 2008 and spring 2009, the original boy band have announced plans to extend the outing through summer.
The 34-city Full Service Tour will take the male vocal group to amphitheaters across the nation over a period of seven weeks. The trek picks up on May 28 at Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA, and continues through a July 18 performance at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX.
The New Kids’ extended itinerary includes a May 31 concert at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm beach, FL, a June 12 show at Nikon at Jonas Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY, a June 19 performance at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA, and a July 12 gig at Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ. The pop quintet will also shoot North of the Border for a single show during the summer trek: June 21 at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON.
Public on-sales begin on Friday, April 3, in select markets and include VIP packages and a limited number of $10 general admission lawn seats for some venues. Specific on-sale dates and prices can be found on the official New Kids Web site.
“We have put everything we have into the making of this summer tour. We have strategized and we are on a mission to thank our fans in a big way,” explained member Donnie Wahlberg in a statement. “This tour is going to be a party like no other. Wet, hot, wild, fun! We owe it to our fans.”
The New Kids are currently in the middle of their spring 2009 tour, which kicked off March 7 at Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, TX. The new show is set for March 31 at Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH, with more dates booked through April 18 at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA.
