Electronic duo The Crystal Method ended 2008 with a three-month block of DJ sets at clubs across the United States and Canada. Now with a new studio release on the horizon, Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland are hitting the nation’s concert venues for a round of live performances.
The 30-city Divided by Night Tour officially launches May 6 at the House of Blues in Boston, MA, and runs through a June 14 performance at Murray Theater in Murray, UT. Along the way, the band will stop for a May 9 show at Webster Hall in New Yokr, NY, a May 16 concert at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA, a May 22 gig at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV, and a June 8 session at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL.
Venues have not yet been announced for shows on May 28 in San Francisco, CA, and June 13 in Denver, CO. The tour includes four concerts in Canada: May 7 at Metropolis in Montreal, QC; May 8 at The Guvernment in Toronto, ON; June 1 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC; and June 3 at The Whiskey in Calgary, AB.
The Crystal Method will be touring in support of the group’s forthcoming fourth studio album, “Divided by Night.” After being pushed back from a late 2008 release, the record is slated to hit stores on May 12.
The upcoming studio album and live tour will be the first for The Crystal Method since the 2004 release “Legion of Boom” and its companion trek. Since then, Jordan and Kirkland have mostly worked on smaller soundtrack and remix projects in the studio, and have performed only scattered DJ sets. Their 2008 DJ set tour launched on October 9 at the Ultra Lounge in Newport Beach, CA, and wrapped December 19 at Epic Center in Minneapolis, MN.
