Chicago is going for the big laughs when it hosts a five-day comedy festival from June 17-21. The Just for Laughs: A Very Funny Festival is a joint presentation of cable network TBS and Montreal’s Just for Laughs comedy festival. TBS plans to tape three specials to air in June.

Ellen DeGeneres, Andy Dick, Bill Engvall, Jimmy Fallon, Louis C.K., David Alan Grier, Jim Jeffries, Lisa Lampanelli, George Lopez, Bob Odenkirk and Russell Peters are among the 100+ comedians scheduled to appear in some 70 shows at various venues through out the city.


Host venues for the comedy festival include the Rosemont Theatre, The Vic, Chicago Theatre, the Gene Siskel Film Center, Lakeshore Theater, iO Theater, The Lincoln Lodge, The Playground Theater and Annoyance Theatre.

Tickets go on sale April 6 for shows at the Chicago Theatre, The Vic and the Rosemont Theatre at all Ticketmaster locations and at the venue box offices. Tickets for the Lakeshore Theatre and Gene Siskel Film Center go on sale April 24.
