In anticipation of his upcoming album release, rock icon Elvis Costello has laid out plans for a brief U.S. tour along and several festival appearances to take him through the summer.

The one-month outing is currently set to launch June 9 at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, and continue through a June 19 performance at Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, CO. Additional stops on the seven-show run include a June 10 concert at Beacon Theatre in New York, NY, and a June 16 gig at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

The June tour is bookended by a May 2 appearance at Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, TN, and an August 19 concert at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA. Information for specific Costello concerts can be found on the performer’s official Web site.

Costello will take a break from his regular concert series for a solo performance on June 13 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Bruce Springsteen will provide the day’s headlining performance, though a complete schedule for the four-day festival has not yet been confirmed.

The tour supports Costello’s next studio album, “Secret, Profane & Sugarcane,” which is due in record stores on June 2. The disc is a follow-up to his April 2008 effort with backing band The Imposters, “Momofuku.” Costello collaborated with Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis on that album and, in turn, provided guest vocals on her 2008 solo effort “Acid Tongue.”

Since making his U.S. record debut in 1978 with “My Aim is True,” the English musician has recorded dozens of albums with his signature blend of punk rock, alternative and New Wave music. Costello has also become a fixture of pop culture, frequently appearing in various film and television cameos over the years.
