Acclaimed alternative band Wilco just launched a spring tour of the U.S. on April 14, but another leg of dates has been announced for early summer. The next leg of the 2009 tour kicks off with a June 13 performance at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN, and wraps on June 30 at Britt Pavilion in Jacksonville, OR.
The eight-city extension will trail along the Gulf Coast before venturing up the West Coast. Tour leg highlights include a June 18 concert at Centennial Hall in Tucson, AZ, and a June 22-23 stand at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
Pre-sale and public on-sale dates for the June tour vary. Tickets are already available for select shows; specific information for each of the summer concerts can be found on Wilco’s official Web site.
The new round of concerts coincides with the projected June release of Wilco’s seventh studio album. The still-unnamed record is in the final stages of production according to a band statement, which also gives an incomplete track listing. The album will feature a collaborative track with Canadian singer-songwriter Feist, titled “You and I.”
After closing out last year as a supporting act for Neil Young, Wilco announced its first headlining tour of 2009 in February. Wilco will take the stage tonight (April 15) for the second night of the tour-opening run at Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI. The band will visit nine U.S. cities this month before the jetting overseas for some late spring shows in Portugal and Spain.
