It has only been a couple weeks since The Dead completed their long-awaited spring tour on May 16 in Quincy, WA. But one of the band’s founding members and his primary band, Bob Weir & RatDog, are already prepared to counter that run with a 24-city tour of their own this summer.

The trek is split into Summer East and Summer West tour legs, which will focus primarily on the East and West Coasts, respectively. The first leg of the tour kicks off July 5 at Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in Columbus, OH, and concludes July 25 at the Gathering of the Vibes Festival in Bridgeport, CT. The next concert circuit crosses the U.S. for an August 21 concert at Britt Pavilion in Jacksonville, OR, and ends with a September 6 performance at Pozo Saloon in Pozo, CA.

Along the way, the band will perform two-night stands on July 14-15 at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA; July 17-18 at Masquerade Music Park in Atlanta, GA; and July 23-24 at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH.

The Summer East and West Tour will feature a handful of other recording acts who will pass off supporting duties as their own itineraries allow. Jackie Greene will be the main support for both legs of the tour with moe. jumping in on a few East Coast dates. The Black Crowes will also get in on the action to kick off the tour on July 5.

Tickets for most dates of the Summer East run are already available, and pre-sales for Summer West begin May 29. Regular updates on ticket pricing and on-sale dates specific to each show are available on RatDog’s official Web site.
